This Superior Ebonised Verge Repeating Bracket Clock by Robert Stennet of Bath England is dated 1775 is a fine example of his work. The double fusee pull repeat mechanism retains it orginal verge escapement and has a beautifully engraved back plate. The hours are struck on a bronze bell with a facility to silence the strike if required. The inverted bell top case is surmounted by a brass handle and has glazed sides. The time is indicated by blue steel hands over a brass dial with a silvered chapter rings and date aperture. Roman numerals are engraved as is the silver signiture plate. The clock is in excellent condition
